幼承庭训，酷爱书艺和文学。青年时期曾在《八一电影》、《啄木鸟》、《十月》杂志上发表过文章。不惑之前，通临诸碑贴，烂熟于心。尤对张旭、怀素草书，情有独钟，偏爱至极。从学书伊始至今、初与余有志校长学楷、侯万顺主任习草，后又拜访求教沈鹏等诸多贤达名流，书坛大家。从中受益匪浅，感慨良多。在此基础上，取众家之长，兼收并蓄，融会贯通，从而形成了自己特殊的艺术风格。凝重之中有飘逸，奔放之中不失法度，朴拙之中见灵秀，大有天然古朴之气,宽博疏朗之势，深具一种大气苍茫，恣肆朴茂的美感和境致。
